Eliot O'Hara: New York Harbor, October 1947 Watercolor Painting
On the back there is the original paper label that says it was actually painted in October of 1947 and that the original price was $300. In the upper left corner on the back it has a hand-written note that it sold for $1500 in California in 1991.
This painting is well-documented. Eliot O'Hara is a renowned watercolor artist who lived from 1890 to 1969. This painting is a wonderful image of the New York Harbor and a perfect example of his style. The colors are soft yet boldly brushed in greys, blues, and browns. The image has wonderful brooding clouds moving in with a long cargo ship in the foreground. This is a fabulous painting for any fan of Eliot O'Hara or of the city of New York.
