Vintage Primitive Folk Art Turned-Wood Dough or Chopping Bowl
The shape is a bit off-round. One diameter is 9" -- the other is 10". It's about 4" deep. There's plenty of wear on this rustic, primitive, wooden bowl. It has been used. Not sure if the chunk missing was natural to the wood, or if it broke off at some point. It is very smooth, so if it was broken, it was a very long time ago.
A Pair of Vintage Hand-Turned Wooden Bowls
Here is a pair of vintage hand-turned bowls. Two sizes, with carved grooves, and two stained accent bands. Beautiful woodgrains. Excellent condition and clean.
The larger bowl measures 3 inches high by 6 1/4 inches across the top. The smaller bowl measures 3 inches high by 5 3/4 inches across the top. No maker's marks. There are three contact points on the bottom where the bowls were attaches to the turning lathe.
No cracks, chips or stains. As with all art woodenware there are imperfections from manufacture such as; varied tones in the woodgrains, varied patterns in the woodgrains and variations in texture especially around knots.
No excessive imperfections from manufacture. The smaller bowl has a soft ridge line running from bottom to top on the exterior and a couple of minute dark knot spots on the interior. The larger bowl has a small rough spot on one of the exterior stained bands over a knot and a dark straight line leading away from a knot on the interior.
This beautiful hand-worked pair is clean, bright and ready for service.

Primitive Wooden Dough Bowl
This is a wooden dough bowl, measuring approximately 10.75" x 10"; 0.5" thick rim; and with a 0.75" trim ridge. The bowl needs cleaning and could use an oiling. Some stress lines, as seen in photos, as well as a couple of spots that may be able to be sanded out.
Jules B. Dahlager: "Mt. Achilles, Ketchikan"
Here is a beautiful oil painting on canvas (laid to board) by the famed "Alaska Four" artist Jules Dahlager. The painting is titled "Mount Achilles, Ketchikan, Alaska" and is signed "Jules" in the bottom left corner. The painting itself measures 6" x 8" and overall it measures roughly 10" x 12", including the frame. It is housed in its original carved and gilded Lloyd Jensen frame with its original backing and label. The painting is in excellent condition, as is the frame, with only some slight wear consistent with age.
